TARANAKI STOCK EXCHANGE
A meeting of the New Plymouth
shaiebrokers was held in the Town Hall on Friday afternoon, to consider the advisableness of forming 1 a stock exchange. Mr D. MeAHum presided. There were al"o present: — Messrs \V. L. Humphries, J, S. S. Medley (Medley and Kundle), L. M. Monteath, J. \V. Wilson (Wilson and Nolan), E. Gilmour (Gilmour, l'attie, and free), and E. P. Webster. An apologv was received from Mr Alec Hill. ' It was decided, on the motion of Messrs Wilson and Humphries, lo jfoim a stock exchange, to bo called the 'l'aranaki Stock Exchange.
Mr Wilson moved, and Mr Webster seconded, thai a committee consisting of Messrs J. C. Davies, W. liewley, L. M. Monteath, D. McAllum, and J. S. S. Medley be set up to draw rules and obtain information, which will be submitted to a future meeting. Mr D. McAllum w : as appointed interim secretary.
