PARIHAKA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board was held at kahotu 11 Wednesday last. Present-. Mr J. Rothery (chairman), Messrs W. Kcvell J. C. 0 Rorko, J. Young, M. Deigan and P. Willcox.
It was resolved that metal on Tepuka road be blinded, that the foreman attend to culvert 1■ 11 Opua road, and that a culvert be put on Neariki road.
Opauapa Koad.—li. lla.ford will be given until November ii i 0 complete his contract of fofmaiion, failing which the penalty will be enforced.
Native Rates.—The clerk was authorised to engage assistance in getting the native roll completed. Ngariki Read.—Messrs McFce and Hill are given until November 10 to complete contract. Tenders.—Metal 011 Arawhalu road: G. Holmes, :i ; pi- r yard (accepted). W. llampsun was the only other tenderer. Opua road: Blinding road, W. Hampson, 2/2 yaul; J. Kriger, 2/0. No tender was accepted.
The foreman was instructed to sink a well near pound, same to be safely covered;, and to provide a wooden trough The surfaceman was instructed to .140 on with drain in Lower Waituka toad.
ConsjderaljJe discussion took place dealing with the matter of dispens-
ing with two surfacemen, Cr. Young moving that tw'o surfacemen be dispensed with, Cr. o'|{orke sei ending the motion, whicii was opposed by Cr. Wilcox. who moved as an amendment, that the matter be left i n abeyance for a month. The amendment was seconded by Cr. Sorcnson, and carried.
Upper Pttniho Hoad Loan.—Cr. W ii'leox moved, -Cr. Revel! -econded. that the Parihaka Road Hoard join with the Werekino Board ip a |oint loan as in tenps nf resolution. ' 1, was further resolyed that the c lerk communicate with' the W'enkino Board and arrant dale of funeral meeting to discuss the loan.
