THE STATUS OF INDIANS. Received 9, 9.35 p.m. JoiiANNESDumi, October 9. The Government propose to compel Indians residing iu the Transvaal to register. The Indians refuse, and declare they prefer prison, and intend to appeal lo the Home Government to uphold thor rights as British subjects.
