LABOUR DAY CELEBRATIONS.

PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY

The hades' procession will leave the, railway station at n a.m., headed by the Duke of Wellington and Napoleon Bonaparte, closely followed by the Military Band and the American pony. Route ; From railway station along Devon street to Crofter's corner, where the procession will double back on south (Crocker's) side of Devon street to l.iardet street, thence to the giounds. Volunteers, headed by Garrison Band, will 'leave the IJriji Hall at 1.30 p.m. The school children will leave the Central School at 1.30 p.m. At the grounds the events are arranged as fellows: — The School Relay Race, 1.30 p.m. School Children's Display and Club Dili by West End School Girls, 1.45 P-m. First Round Tug-of-War, 2.10 p.m. The Governor will arrive at 2.30 p.m., and will be escorted to the south terrace, wheic the guard of honour will be lined up. After the Royal salute the school chidren massed on the grounds will sing' the National Anthem. The official addles will then be presented by the Mayor. Serpentine March, Garrison Band, 3 p.m. Hunters' Jumping Contest commences 3.15. Fancv Dress Hockey Match, 4 p.m. Humorous Military Sham Fight, 4.30 p.m, Taranaki Guards v. Maoris. Final Tug-of-War, 5 p.m.

Parents are advised that the Bran Tub at the Garden Parly includes numerous specially imported novelties which have been guaranteed to amuse the cross and 'sleepless baby.
