MR CRIM'S AWAKENING.
ADVERTISES FOR A WIFE AND IS OFFFEKED A FAMILY.

The matrimonial adv rli-iMiont busbies* ru-eived a distinct Mi-back this week through the bitter experience of Mr Rufus Grim, a business man of Charleston, Illinois. In response to .Mr Giim's adverli.sum" 11 for a wife, printed in a mairim nial paper, he received a letter and photograph from Mrs Nina Buck, a widow, of Gypsum. Kansas. Th«letter was quite satisfactory, and tilt photograph even mere so, and Mi Grim's affections were fixed immediately.
After letters had been exchanged, Mrs lluck coyly consented to come to Cliar'eston in order that a marriage might be arranged. On the day appointed Mr Grim was at the station to meet her, and as the widow stepped from the rain he embraced her warmiy. Then he asked,
•'Have you any luggage, my dear?'' "Oh, yes, : > she replied. "I have a few little things in the carriage." Then a procession of six sturdy children, ranging- in age from seventeen to five, hied out of the carriage At the sight of the procession the dis mayed Mr Grim threw up both hands, and declared the. engagement off. Mrs Buck tearfully denounced him as an advenurer and a Don Juan, but she was eventually persuaded to return to Kansas with the six children and her expenses.—"Daily Express."
