THE NORTON ALLEGATIONS
EVIDENCE CONCERNING CROHN'S DEATH. .Received 4th, 11.20 p.m. Sydney, October 4. In the Norton-Haynes libel case. Dr. Riddell, who attended Grohn, slated that the man was organically diseased, and a chronic alcoholist. He examined hi matter death, and saw no signs of violence. He thought Grohn died of heart failure, and gave a certificate. He was not informed that the man was struck with a bottle, and nothing was s aid to awaken the slightest suspicion that the man did not die a natural death.
John Norton, in the box, said the statement that he struck Grohn wit:i a bottle was a downright, absolute, deliberately concocted lie. Sergeant McKie, who was present al the medical examination, said the doctor did not turn back tho man > hair to see if there wa a wound on the scalp. Witness saw no blood stains on the body.
