A SEISMIC DISTURBANCE. Perth, October 4. An earthquake of intense severity was recorded by the seismograph yesterday. A preliminary tremor commenced at 2.50 a.m., and long waves followed fivo minuies later. Therefore tho centre of the disturbance could not have been very far distant, say between two and three hundred degrees off the arc. There were two maxima tremors respectively at 10.18 and 10.25, and at these times the pendulum swung right across tho film. The wholo disturbance lasted two hours. VICTORIA LAND-TAX.
