WEDDING.
At St. Alnry'e Church, New Plyimmili, on Wednesday afternoon, .Mr William B Shaw was uniiod m the bonds of holy matrimony to Miss Bessie Tippins, daughter of Mr B. Pippins, of New Plymouth. Rev. F ■ G. Kvans ouiciatcd. The bride, who w.is given awav by lier father, was " bciutil'uUv dressed, her dress bein:; of rich white corded silk. The bodice hula transparent yoke of court 'ilk voile, and was trimmed with pleated cbilion frills and niched silk ribbon. I I'lie skirl, with 11 touti Irani, was irisnmeil with rin he.l chiffon in the form of true lovers' knots. The bride wore the usual veil and orange bios ;oms, .carried a lovely bouquet of white [azaleas and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids were Misses M.. Br.iceUirdlc, cousin of t'uo bride, and D. Johnston They were daintily dressed in cream voile with small heliotrope llower, and wore pretty cream lace hats, trimmed with heliotrope, besides
carrying bouquets of bluebells and , jonquils. The presents from the bridegroom were pretty gold brooches set with pearls and rubies. The bride was also attended by two little girls, Gladys Welham, a cousin of the bride, ; ,nd Grace Shaw,' sister of tlie bridegroom, both wearing pretty frocks of green silk, trimmed with laee insertion and tucks, and carrying crooks decorated with daffodils. Each wore a corone of daffodils and a gold cross, the gift of the bridegroom, Master
Dick Shaw,' brother of the bridegroom, as page, was dressed in brown velvet, with cream silk collar and front. Ike bridegroom's present to the bride was i Bne pearl necklace, and the bride's to the bridegroom a gold and ruby tiepm Mr W. J. Thomson acted as best man, and Mr Geo. Tippins as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Foresters' Hall, ncarlj a hundred guests sitting down to afternoon tea. The newly-wedded couple left for the south the same afternoon ~n their honeymoon tour, the brides' travelling dress being a navy-blue tailor-made costume, with ' white facings, and a hat to match. Thcro was ,i big array of valuable and useful gifts from a large circle of friends.
