COOK'S PICTURES.
On Thursday next night the above company open a short season at the Theatre Royal when New Plymouth is promised something quite new in the way of animated pictures. i n adduion to the latest film importations from London and Paris, a number of distinctly New Zealand films will be shown, including the Grand National Steep,ochase as run at Christchureh on Tuesday, August nth, and also a series 0 f stloe t scenes in Wellington, Christchuvch, and Dunedin. Referring to the Wellington season the Jfe w Zealand Times says.--Cook's fine secies of animated pictures, whjch we"ro presented to Welingtpn sight-seers at ;ho Town Hall last evening, proved to be all that \vas reported of tht<"m The scenes from the "Sign of the Cross," ln which the most striking incidents of the play are faithfully porl rayed, is the most admirable prsentaiion of the kind that has been seen here. Other thrilling, realistic and humorous films were displayed in turn in quick succession, the audience testifying unmistakeabe approval throughout t!, c proceedings " Mr Cook is arranging to take a cinematograph of the principal thoroughfares of this town and produce same at the Theatre Royal during .ho season. On Saturday a matinee will bo given at 3 o'olook. Box plan now °pen at the Dresden.
