Mr J. K. Scott, of Pungarehu, takes possession of the Commercial Hotel, Manaia, to-day. Mr W. T. Jennings, M.H.R. for Egmonl, came home to New Plymouth for the week-end, after another week in Parliament.
Miss Mace, who takes up her duties in the next week as pupil teacher at the Fitzroy School, has been transferred from Inglewood. Miss Mace is a third year teacher, and has successfully passed her college matriculation examinations.
Mr John Petrie, general manager to several Taranaki petroleum syndicates, wlio is now in Sydney, will leave for _\'ew Zealand on Saturday next, bringing with him a complete boring plant, with which operations will be at once commenced 011 tlio Bonithon freehold, Xew Plymouth. The departure of Mr A. 11. Johnstone for New Plymouth will be regretted by a. side circle of friends in Eltham, says the "Argus." During his stay here, as a member of the firm of Maloue, McVeagh and.
