heavy losses sustained. STEAMERS STRANDED IN THE STREETS. New lobk, September 28. Hurricanes, accompanied ty floods ma tatahcies, have occurred in the .southern States of America. Damage -v« done to the extent of a million lollars, not including the cotton, growers losses. In Alabama many places were unroofed. At Pensacoia steamers were stranded iar up the streets. The losses at the miter place amount to two million dollars, great destruction at mobile. CATHEDRAL BLOWN DOWN. 3,000,000 DOLLARS DAMAGE. Received 30,1.46 p.m. ■New Yoek, September 29, A hurricane at Mobile wrecked the shipping and wharves, blew down uhnstcimrch Cathedral, and wrecked several blocks of buildings. The city >vas Hooded, and tho damage done is j.ilimutrtl at three million dollars. At several towns in the vicinity, great destruction was wrought.
