NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB.

The annual meeting of the New Plymouth Bowling Club was held ai ne Pavilion on Thursday evening, .here being a large attendance of .nembers. Mr F. Simpson occupied .ic chair.

The annual report showed that the jlub had had a most successful and tiiogresive season. All inter-club •Hatches played by the club during ho last season were won. The two .inks which reprcscnicd the club at he Northern Bowling Association's tournament, did not succeed in winding the banner, though they gave a ;Ood account of themselves. At the Easier Taranaki intcrclub tourna.nont, he'd at Hawera, New Plymouth Jlub won the challenge shield. Cottier (a c'ub memjcr), feeling refcrenco being also nade to the long continued illness of ;f Mr James Paul, the club's president. The following officers were aplointcd for the ensuing year:—Pr-'si->nt, Mr James Paul (re-elected-; .ice-presidents, Messrs R. Cock and Jovett; committee, Messrs Percy imith, H. Goldwatcr, liwing, A. U. ..ray, McKollar, A. Galdwater, Geo. jrey. Donations were received from the ollovving gentlemen : —Mr James ,'aul, £2 2/; Mr Govett, £2 2/; Mr J. Grey, £2 2/; R. Cock, £2 2/ . Following were winners of troplv es during the year, which were pie,ented by the chairman:—Mr C .tundlc, champion cup and medal; ~lr G. Gray, pair of bowls, skip handicap pairs; Mr C. Govett, lead handicap pairs, bowl case; Mr O'Lough-. in, pair bowls, handicap singles; Mr J. Ewing, runner-up handicap singes, case glass salt-cellars. It was resolved, "That an expression of sympathy be tendered to Mr f. Paul on account of his long illness, and his inability to attend the .neeting, and the wish expressed that .ie would be able to be amongst members on the green at an early date."

FITZROY CLUB. There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Fitzroy Bowl.ng Club, held on Wednesday evenng in the club's pavilion, Mr H. Ocmpsey (president of the club) in ihe chair.

The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr H. Dcmpsey (re-elect--d); vice-presidents, Messrs S. Hill, J. Ramson. 11. L. Skcet, and C. F.

Foote; committee, Messrs F. C. Griffiths, J. Jones, M. Ramson, Guerin, F.de, F. Jackson, Bary, T. G. Sole; secretary, Mr H. R. Cattley (re-elec-

od). It was decided that a rebate be allowed to new tennis members, which ,vill make the annual subscription £l, and in the case of two or more members of one family, 15/ each It was also resolved to affiliate with the New Zealand Association.

The Gas Company will be asked to lay gas on to the pavilion. Mr Ede donated a guinea for a be pinner's prize, and several members gave sums amounting to £5 to the ,'unds.

It was resolved that if any player wins the Paul Cup twice in succession, or three times at intervals, it shall become his property. Competition for the Okey-Arnald Cup will be commenced afresh this season.
