WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD.

The members present at the monthly meeting of the above Board were Mr S. Turnbull (Chairman), Messrs Connett, Hellier and Smith. Correspondence was read from Messrs Roy and Wilson, stating that papers were ready for completion of conveyance of land taken from H. Bowman for deviating the Kelly road ; from Mrs Harford re payment of royalty for gavel; fom a native on Waitara road refusing to pay rates; and from Noxious Weeds Inspector re ownership of piece of land on Manutalii F.ast road.

Tenders were received from six contractors for metalling ij miles of the Waitara road, Messrs Tarry and Cartwright's at £(> g/ per chain being accepted. The Chairman was authorised to sign the deeds on behalf of the Board for 'and purchased from Mr H. Bowman.

The Clerk was directed to offer the piece of land on Manucahi East road to Mr I', Wakefield, provided he agrees to keep the same free of noxious weeds,

Mr J. Clark attended and requested that three chains of new metal be put down in the Manutahi East road, and offered to give the necessary gravel, but the Board decided to repair the metal at present down "11 the road. The Chairman reported he had seen Mr Tail re County Council's permission to erect a toll gate on Wortlcy load.

Messrs Little and Co.'s offer of a donation equal to their this year's rate towards repair of Te Arei"road was accepted. Accounts amounting to were passed for payment and the Board adjourned.
