The Di«t of the Duchy of Brunswick has invited the Duke of Cum berland to abandon his claim to the Kingdom of Hanover, and to assume the rulerahip of the Duchy. [The Duchy was governed linn 1885 by Prince A'breeht, as Regent, until his death a few wets ago. Thr third Duke of Cumberland is the heir, but his refusal to give up his claim to the throne of Hanover excluded him from the succession when Duke William I. died in 18X4. The Landtag, therefore, elected the late Regent.]
