WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY.

PROPOSALS SUBMITTED TO THE GOVERNMENT. Per Press Association. Wellington, September 25.

To-day, some proposals were submitted to the Premier by Captain Walker, representative of the Marconi Wireless Telegraphy Company. " We are prepared to erect statu ns around the coast oE New Zealand al the Company's expense, and work them for the Government for an annual subsidy," said Captain Walker to a '"Post " representative. " There could be a tentative arrangements for so many years, to see how things would succeed. That is practically what J iw proposing to the Government. As far as Australia is concerned, a similar suggestion was received rather favor--ibly."

Asked if a similar experiment might be tried in New Zealand to the recent one between Queenscliff (near Meljourne), and Deyonport (Tasmania), Captain Walker said he would like to see one made, but there was the question of expense. He would recommend that apparatus at the places mentioned should be shifted to Wellington and ChristcUureh, but he did not think his directors would agree to this course without a guarantee that the project would eventually be taken oyer by the Government. Howcer, he would nave a small installation at the Christchurch Exhibition.
