ESCAPES FROM SUNNYSIDE ASYLUM. gets RIGHT away. (Per Press Association.) r ■ Christchurchj Sptember 23. Lionel lerry, who had been tenced to death for the murder of a Clnnaraan in Wellington in October "JOS, but who was deemed to be insane, and was removed to the Sunnvside Asylum, near Christchurch, escaped from that institution between 7 and 8 o clock last night, Terry had been working; about '.he asylum grounds as usual during the day, and wa» with the other inmates when they were assembled in the building for tea.
When the inmates were about to be locked in thoir cells, Terry was misses') and has not been discovered since.
All the windows were fastened, and all the doors were locked at the time of the escape, and it is supposed that lie either had a key to one of the doors, or that his escape had been arranged for by his friends.
