Excellent progress is being- made with the initial work of constructing the New Plymouth railway deviation. Work is proceeding at various points ;dong the 'ine. A four roomed cotiage that blocked the way at Eliot Street was shifted i n to Molesworth street on Ttiesdav, and theie are others yet to be shifted. The head of the cutting is now within a iew \ ards of Eiiot street.
