PERSONAL.
Mr E. Pridham, principal of the New Plymouth High School, has been indisposed for about a week, and is still unable to teach in the school. The Gisborne Council has appointed as Borough Engineer Mr E. Harvey Gibbon, formerly of New Plymouth Mr Gibbon was next in order on the list when "Mr Blackwell was selected, the latter in the meantime being appointed City Engineer at Newcastle. Mr W. T. Gardiner, who has been manager of the Dresden' Piano Co. in New Plymouth for a couple of years, l;as been transferred to Wellington, iviiere i}e jyi|l jjaye charge of the linn's tnusieal department, Gardiner has made a number of irjpnds m the dis triet and they will regret hi* departure.
