Per Press Association,

Waipawa, September 15. A verdict of accidental death was returned at the inquest on Franklin Penni, killed while shunting at 1 ukehou on the 4th inst., a rider being- added that the Railway Department be recommended that no men be sent as assistants on night trains entrusted with lamps unless they have proved efficient in signalling.
