MIDHIRST.
(Our Own Correspondent.) Oil Tuesday night, while a valuable young 4-year-old horse, belonging to Mr Kleeman, manager of the dairy factory, was feeding on the river hank opposite the factory, it slipped and fell to the bed of the river, breaking its back. Mr J. Shotler, after examination,[found nothing could be done to save the animal and advised that it be shot.
The people of Midhirst; will be pleased to hear that Mr S. Robinson is looking well after the serious operation he underwent a few days ago, having his log taken off.
Mr Edward Cain went north on Tuesday night. He is on his way to the northern gumfiekls, where he iutends opening up 11 general store. Mr Cain has been for a trip to the Old Country and just landed two weeks ago' lie says Home is not what it used to be, and is glad to get back to New Zenlanu, wliere there are no exessire rates and taxes to pay.
