Mr R. R. Martin, organisor for the Opposition Party, arrived in New .Plymouth yesterday It is, wo understand, tiie intention of Mr Martin to form branches of the Political Reform League m this district.
Another old identity of New Plymouth passed away on Thursday afternoon in the person of Mr Edwin Pearn, who died at the residence of Mr J. Drury, after reachiug the advanced age of 80 years. Tho deceased has been suffering for a long time. The funeral takes place to-morrow afternoon.
Mr G. V. Tate, chairman, and Cr. J. Brown of the Taranaki County Council, left for Wellington yesterday morning to interview the Minister for Public Works. A balance of £SOO on Junction road and £3OO on Tariki road will be applied for.
