A conference took place this morning between the parties and their solicitors, but what occurred has not been allowed to transpire, and when the Dock Trust met this afternoon the matter was taken in committee. On resuming, the following motion was adopted:—

The purport of the motion is that if the contractors do not resume work at the new dock within seven days the Trust may take over the works and carry them on at the contractors' risk.
