In one of the main streets of Ingle wood is to lie seen and heard an escape of gas from ''down below." The oracle says there is petroleum there. Attention was drawn to some brown, greasy peaty earth, which affords the very best indications, so says the expert. The hole was 511 deep and 3UI in diameter, and from this line gas was beingejected, at a force said to be equal lo Xolb per square inch. From this spot, at a depth '' 1 Sfl, was taken a sample of crude oil. Indications such as these are at least reassuring.
