TO NIGHT. To night in the Theatre Royal Mr Leslie 1 la; lis will make his debut. in Melbourne the highest praise was given Mr Harris by both Press and public. "He's as good as Spurr" was the verdict of the large audience, and the praise was well deserved. Mrllanis adopts J. L. Toole's advice as to amusing the public, ''Make 'em laugh." He has a natural gift of hu mour, a sweet singing voice, excellent facial expression, and a great command of dialect. He gives a great variety of musical sketches and humorous songs, interspersed witli, nev funny stories, lie is a thorough musician, and his performances on the piano are alone a special treat. To night amongst numerous other items he w ill give a humorous musical sketch, "Old Songs and New books.'' Synopsis— A Youthful Memory— Foolish Words—The Old Love Song and the New—The Operatic ChorusOld Song Writers and their Modern Exponents—The New Books—lndefinite Conclusions, &c. Concluding with a few remarks upon how we treat music nowadays. Humourous Musical Illustrations —A Recital a la .Mode, The Possibilities of a Melody Iwitli Illustrations in the styles of Mendelssohn, Chopin, and Wagner-, Amateur Operatics. Humorous song—''The Ladiis' Penny Paper" (this song was specially commanded on three separate occasions by His Majesty King Edward-. Musical monologue—" Xmas Bells''; short pantomimic sketch—"Silent Oraiots" ;or "Seen, but Not Heard." Miss Rosina Buckmann will sing "A Summer Night" (Goring Thomas), "The Dewdrop and the Rose" (Johns), "Three Green Bcnnets" (D'Hardelot), "The Birth of Dawn" (Leoni), &c, The season is for to night only.
