BUCKLAND AND SON'S REPORT. (Special to "News'"). Auckland, September 7. Horses in good demand, aged draughts £2O to £38,. good hacks and harness £l4 to £i\ 10,', ordinary hacks and ponies' £4 to £l2. At Remuera there was a fu'il market. Beef sold well at late rates, stee'rs from £(> 10/ to j£i2, cows £4 10/ to £S 12,0. Sheep: Full supply and steady competi.on at slightly lower rates. Wethers to 26/6, ewes to 27/5, hoggets to 24/3, lambs to 25/. Pigs sold extra well. Porkers to 35/, ba coners to 52/. WALTER BEWLEY'S REPORT At cur poultry sale on Saturday there was a good entry of birds, which realised excellent prices; hens brought I/O to 1/10, cockerels 1/2 to 2/1, pullets 1 11 to 2/1, clucks 1/8 to 25. We had an unsatisfied demand for all descriptions of poultry, and should recommend our friends not to hold back too much for the Christmas demand, or there will then be a glut, which will rcsuit in disappointment.
MR NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION REPORT. At th'' llaymarket, on Saturday, then; was again good demand for slips making 5(1 to S/, good wcancrs 10,6 to 17;, small stores ibj to 31;, porkers 37/ to 43/, horse, trap and harness /'S .10/. At the- mart then- was a large entry of poultry, and everything sold at good prices. I'ullcts made 1/10 to 311, hens 1/0 to 2/(1, cockerels 2: to 5/(1, ducks 1 '4 to i,y. lruil': During the week 1 sold oranges at from d/ to 11/0, according lo quality; lemons 5 0 to 6,, bananas Catt/'e— OnFriday, 3'st August, I Isold a clearing sale on account of Messrs Dingle and Curtis. The cows were a nice young lot, but backward, being mostly Octuber ca'vers, and bidding was consequently somewhat slow. The pigs were a good clean lot. and were keenly competed for. Cows made from £1 to £i) 10;, pigs 17, to 23 6. On Mondav at Toko the sale of Mr Alf. Bayly's dairy herd attracted a large number of buyers, principally from the scuthein end of the district. In the dairy yards bid ding for heifers, except for really goed quality, was dull, only 3 year good condition and forward springers making satisfactory prices. JENKINS, MATTHEWS AND PIGOTT'S REPORT. We had a great muster of eatt'e at the opening of our new I'renui yards on Mi nday last, over duo head being yatded. The metalling of the yards wa- much appreciated by both buyers and sellers. Bidding was not so spirited as at our previous sale, and a good many lines were passed in.
