Springing cows made £(> 5, to £8 15/, heifers £4 15/ to £i> 1716. At Waiwakaiho on Tuesday cattle came forward in excess of.advertised numbers, the yards being full, and there was a large attendance. Young cattle met with good competition and realised satisfactory prices, nearly every line being sold either at the hammer or private'y-Springing hei fers ar.d farmers' surplus dairy cows were duli of sale, except for rea'.ly good quality. A nice lot nf voung cows from Mr John Brown'selling at satisfactory prices. The same day at Radnor road I held a clt-r'ng sale on acount of Messrs Kaspar Bros. The cows were in rood condition, but showed age. Bidding was quiet. Early calvers made £6 to £&, backward and aged £j 17/6 to £5 10/, bull £(> wj. On Wednesday at Okato there was a jrood atendance at Mr Hy. Putt's clearing sale. The cows were a fair lot. but mostly on the aged si.e, and several rather backward. Tho cows were a very nice lot. but Having been driven a long distance were""hot looking at their best. There was a very good atendance but bidding was rather slow.
VICKERS AND STEVENS' RE PORT. Vickcrs & Stevens report that there was a full yarding of cattle at their Inglewood yards on Wednesday, :he majority being springers, old and backward springers being: unsaleable. Bidding was dull for al! classes. Yearlings made from £i 2,' to £i io/, empty heifers £i n/ to £i ijj, store cow-s £i 5 ; to £i 5/, old and backward springers /i 15/ to £3 5;, good springers £4 2/ to £5 10;', fat cows £4 2,6 to £5 1/.

The total imports of butter into the L'nited Kingdom for the week ending the iSth inst., amounted to 94,000 cwt., as compared with 72.000 cwt. for the corresponding period of tqos. Market strong, owing to continuation of the drought. Think it possible prices are »t their best. Frozen meat : Market dull owing to holidays and the hot weather. N.Z. frozen lamb lower by |d per tb.
