WAIMATE PLAINS TROTTING CLUB. The inaugural meeting of the above club was hold at Burbank Farm (Manaia) yesterday, in splendid weather and with a large attendance. Ilorscowners will notice that the standard-bred trotting stallion Takapo is to travel between Opunakc and Stoney River during the coming season. Takapo is - a horse of very fine quality, good colour, beautiful tem-
perament, and just the kind of sire to mate to low-set mares. He is a fine mover and altogether a handsome horse. Last year he recurcd first honours in his class at the Egmont A. and P. Show. Takapo's headquarters will be at Pungarcliu. For particulars see advt. on page 4.
