SI "IB It is reported that Arica was destroyed. A correspondent, who rode from Santiago to Valparaiso, estimated two hundred thousand Chilians are homeless . Ruin is universal, and it is impossible yet to estimate the fatalities. An economic crisis is imminent. Some of the railways have reopened sections. Subscriptions for the sufferers have been opened in London. Shocks were felt at Martinique on Monday and yesterday.
