BELL BLOCK.
(From our own correspondent). On Thursday evening a most enjoyable concert was held in the Bell Block Hall. The proceeds of the concert go to provide books for the church choir and the Sunday-school. Tlie programme was excollent, the following Indies and gentlemen contributing items:—Mrs.Scantlebury, Misses Tay!or, Bishop, Rice, SaKay (2), and Whitcombe, Messrs Lai tor, Weir, Nixon, Veil, Kenalds, McLean, Perry) Rowe and Rutherford. The pianoforte duot by Miss ami Mrs Bishop was very nicely played, as was that played by the Misses Salway. Miss Rice's singing was much admired, as was that of Misses Taylor and Bishop. Mr Weir's recitations wero very mncli appreciated. Refreshments, provided by the ladies of the district, were handed round at the conclusion of the concert. The Rev. P. Latter, in thanking all those who attended, and those who had assisted, explained the object of the concert, and statod that Miss Rice had kindly undertaken to superintend the Sunday-school'. »
