THE LORDS' SELECT COMMITTEE. FAIRER TREATMENT OF FOREIGN CONCERNS. ReceWed 13,10.20 p.m. Los nos, August 13. The Select Committee of the House of Lords appointed to inquire into the question of treating British and Foreign Life Insurance companies as far as possible on an equality, lest reprisals Bight be taken by Foreign Governments, reports against the suggestion to compel foreign companies to depont funds m security for British policy holders, and recommends making not withdrawable the deposits imposed on any new company since 1870, also furnishing the Board of Trade with full accounts of the business ot the companies and the marked ralue of securities held, and in the case of a foreign company, the appointment of a British trustee.
