VETERANS' ASSOCIATION.
At the annual mooting of the Taranaki Veterans' Association on Saturday, Captain Standish presided, Thero was a good attendance. Mr J. Black (treasurer) reported that the expenditure had slightly exceeded the revenue. The chairman referred to the past year's work, after which the election of officers was taken, resulting as follows: Vice-President, Capt A. Standish (reelected) ; delegates to the New Zealand Association, Capt. R. C. Hamerton and the Vice-President; secretary, Mr J. Black (re-elected); treasurer, Mr J. S. McKellar; auditor, Mr J. 0. George; committee, Capt. Mace, Messrs F Oliver, J. TCenyon, J. C. Davies, It Wells, W. D. Webster, and G. A. Adlam, all re-elected.
On the motion of Mr J. C. George a vote of thanks to the officers was passed. It was decided, on tho motion of Mr Adlam, that it be a recommendation to the committee to hold a re-union in March, and arrangements be made for a shootinß match ou that occasion. Mr Oxcnham suggested that a team of ten or twenty might be picked to meet a team of veterans from Wangauui or some other district. The suggestion was approved, and left to the committee for arrangement, if possible. Tlie matter of a memorial was discussed, and it was decided to ask the Mayor to call a public meeting to discuss the matter. The Association has been promised about £BO, and this will be handed ovor to trustees of the public fund, if started, the opinion being expressed that the project waa too large an order for the Association alone.
