EXPEDITION IN SEARCH OF DIAMONDS. AN INFLUENTIAL SYNDICATE, Received 12th, 4.25 p.m.
[ Londo.v, August 11. A London syndicate has chartered the stoamor Noema to proceed to an unnamed island off the African coast in search of diamonds.
It is reported that somo diamonds, which were found on an island, wero shown to William Griffiths, late man. agcr of De Boers mine, by a soafaring friend, who subsequently died. Before his death, the man gave Griffiths full particulars as to the location of the treasure island. Many influential personages are interesting themselves >»■ the project, no fewer than twenty poors and eight judges boing among the shareholders.
