Newton King's annual Spriug Horse Fair is to be held on September Ist.

Anyone wantins good dairy cows should make a point of attending tbe clearing sale to bo held by Mr Newtcn King at Sentry Hill, on Thursday next, 16th inst., on account of Mr James Rattenbury. The cows have been very carefully selected and can be thoroughly relied upon as being good, On Tuesday next Mr Newton King will hold hisj fortnightly cattle sale in the Waikawaiho yards. A line lot of heifers are entered, including the whole of Mr Chas. Willinson's herd. Anyoio wanting cows just coming into profit (Till find this a good opportunity to purchase.
Mr Geo. Livingstone held his initial horse fair at his Devon-street East Yards on Friday, aud is so pleaied with the sunpojt accorded both from vendors aud buyers that he has decided to make it a monthly fixture. This is sure to bo appreciated by those having good horseflesh to dispose of. The progressiveness of young Taranaki is again evidenced to-day by the opening auction salo of Messrs Webster Bros, in their temporary mart opposite the Bank of New South Wales. The principals aro Messrs "Ken." and "Pat" Webster, both New Plymouth born and bred, and both with sound business training. For the opening sale there is a goodly entry of second-hand furniture, chairs, couches, tables, Japanese rugs, books, a new_ sulky, tools, and so on. Tho new firm has the well-wishes of a large section of the community, and starts with every prospect of success. Tho public are asked to attend iu force to-day and give them a rattling good start.
