FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
Tho usual fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Egmont Lodgo, 1.0.0. F., M.U., was held on Monday evening, N.G. Bro. 11. H. Ford presiding. One candidate was proposed for membership. P.I'.G.M. Bro. G. H. McGahey was appointed Lecture Master (vice P.I'.G.M, Ainsvvorth lately elected secretary) and conferred tho White Degree on Bro.'s Toms and Hamilton. An invitation was "received from the Druid Lodge to a friendly game of cribbagc and euchre in their Lodge rooms, llobe street, on Monday evening next, August 13th. The invitation was heartily accepted and playing members of the Lodge will kindly note and attend on that occasion.
The Egmont Lodge, No. 12,1 0.G.T., hold its quarterly sessions in the Queen street schoolroom on Monday evening, Bro J. C. Lcgg, C.T., presiding. Four new members were proposed, and .thrco initiated into the Order. The officers' reports were held over, and the capitation tax was paid on 59 members. Bro. Stokes, L.D, then installed the following officers: Bro. J. C. Legg, C.T.; Sister A. Butler, V T.; Bro. Hartncll, P.C.T., Bro. VV. Pillar, Chap.; Bro. B. Clark, Mar ; Sister Lcgg, F. See.; Sister E. Ulmer, L, Frethey, As. S,; Sister E. Cock, D.M.; Bro. Cossy, Guard; Bro. J. Higgs, Sent. Bros. Cock and F. Loeseh ably assisted the installing Master. Refreshments were handed round by tho C.T., Bro. Legg, after which harmony was indulged in, and a ploasant evening spent.
