SALE OF WORK.
A sale of work in aid of the Taranaki Maori Missions was opened at Te I lenui Schoolroom on Thursday afternoon. Archdeacon Cole opened (ho function, which was very successful m every way. Jn his opening remarks, the Archdeacon gave a »hon skeich of what was being done to ChrMianisc ! he Maori in Taranaki, an>l gave .-onie particulars of the big Maori meeting at Matuc-uhelu, where Hie Missionaries were giving instriictiou in Christianity, Both in the afternoon and evening there were good ui tendances. There were so many gifts of articles that it was. found impossible to dispose of (he whole of them, and it was decided to continue the function this (Friday) afternoon and evening. TLc stallholders are:-Sweet stall, Mesdaines .l.atler i|i:i] k'irton: produce, Mesdaines lvibby and Morgan ; fancy goods, Mesdaines Cole, Broughton, Lamg and Worlhington ; al'lernoon tea, Mesdaines Tisch and Patch ; Maori kit stall, Misses Morgan, Footc. Berrj s and Cole. Koine really good Maori kits were sold, sume realising as mueli as £1 10s.
