PERSONAL.
We regret to learn that Mr G. Pair, of the petroleum company, is kid up with a serious illness Mr J. D. JJilchie, Secretary for Agriculture, passed through New Plymouth an Thursday morning, returning from Auckland to Wellington. Mr iilundell, Stock Inspector in charge of the West Coast district, was in town on "Wednesday evening, returning south on Thursday's express. Mr Jacob Marx, sou of Mr J. Marx, chairman of the Hawera County Council, was married at Maugatoki on Wednesday to Miss Cleaver, of Eltham. Mr W. J. Tristram, town clerk at Eltham, was a -passenger by last night's boat to Auckland, having been summoned to the Waikato owing to the serious illness of his father. At Eltham on Wednesday Mr li. C. Gibson, of Hawera, and Miss Amy Death, eldest daughter of Mr S. Death of Eraser road, were joined iii matrimony.
