A Blenheim wire states that Mr James Mcllaltie, clerk in the Blcnh.'im Post Office for the past 2i years, on the occasion of his promotion to the chief clerkship at Danuevirke, was presented with a purse of sovereigns : and illuminated addresses from the ' citizens and clerks of the district, ' respectively. Mr J. A. Gilruth, Chief Government Veterinarian, was a passenger from Onehunga to New Plymouth on Mon- , ; day morning, and went on to "Wellington by the express train.
