Arrangements were made for the Synch's meeting at Ukalo on Aug-

I*, was decided to write to the implement manufacturers, asking thai they include Taranaki show in their itinerary.
Tiie meeting considered the proposal to hold a winter show of roots, etc. Mr Ambury suggested the Horticultural Society might work an autumn show in connection with this. A committee, consisting of Mersrs Ambury, 11. Street, and A. Cliff was appointed to meet the Horticultural Society, and to keep the matter in view. The view was expressed that any show held would be under the auspices of the Taranaki Society.
T'-e Chairman mentioned the very grec:t advantage that was being derives from Captain Young's lectures to formers. There was no doubt that Mr \oung was in hearty accord tvitl the Society, and anxious to help. Already he had managed to put [icw life into the farmers, and the Chairman moved that he be accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his invaluable services, and that lie |be elected a life member. T1 e proposal. was seized upon immediately, and :arried with acclamation. The following new members were elected:—James B. Knowles, E. Aylward, Wilcox, R. Fleming, M. Ilerning, R. Luxton, J. Long, 11. Hopkins, Bleaklej 7 , Chapman, V. I yn-.-11, Hood (Rahotu), L. Putt (0k~'o), T. W. Scandlyn, 11. J. Gilbert -;Ncw Plymouth), S. Allhusen, G. /Vilhusen (Urenui), G. S. Kennedj, \V. L. Percival, T. E. Drake, H. Trimble, C. Prideaux (higlewooi'l, s. J. Hyslop (Sentry Hill), Chaifes Sole (New Plymouth). Myny of these members are the direct result of the meetings held at lnglewood and Rahotu. A committee consisting of Messrs A. Cliff, R. \\ atson, \V. Ambury and \i. Stanley was appointed to revise and prepare the schedule. Me;;srs j. Honeylield, C. lloskin, James Hill, and the secretary were appo..ited to canvass New Plymouth for special prizes. Mi Sellers, of Okaiawa (through Mr H. Linn), renewed his offer of a special prize of two guineas for the annual show.
It as decided to apply to the Government to have analysis made of samples of Taranaki soil.
_Hi \V. E. Spencer, Director of "1 echnical Education, explained his schemes for agricultural education and dairying instruction. He was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. A committee comprising- Messrs \V. Ambvry, Stead, 11. Olcey, Hoskinj and W. Stanley, was set up to confer with _Mr Spencer and report at next meeting of the committee.
