The grading system wa: discussed, and various other regula lions proposed by the Department As a result, the grading system \vi! be considerably changed, and in stead of the old system of "point ing," a new system will be install e<l. It was resolved that in futun grading should be: "common," y to 59; "fair," 6o to 69; "good fair/ 70 to 7p; "hnc," So to Bq, and "superior,- go to 100. The Department had proposed to make regulation' ,wiih S points margin, but the prin ciple of a io points margin was up held. Discussion also took place regarding the five divisions, and re suited in favour of 20 points foi washing, 20 for scutching, 20 fostripping, 20 for bleaching, and 21 for streng'\ The effect will he t< loner the grade of "fair" by : points. The conference recommend ed that the salaries of graders be inI creased with a minimum of ,£3OO.
