SEEMINGLY HARSH VERDICT PEIt I'EESS ASSOCIATION. Duxbdik, July 24. At the Politic Court to-day, Alexander Leekie, a small storekeeper in Kensington, was Jiiied £25 and £3 8s for selling liquor without a license. A man was seen to enter the store, and on coming out a constable found that ho had> two bottles of beer on him. The police raided the place, but failed to liad any liquor. The man with the beer said he bought it at Leckie's, but in crofs examination ho was not clear on the point, as he said he was muddled. Defendant denied haviug sold the beer, or having any in the place.
