TRAMCAR ACCIDENT.

2KB PBKSB ASSOCIATION. Wellington, July 23. A serious accident oecured in Manners street about 3 o'olook this afternoon. Mrs Spring, whose hueband is a French polisher employed in the city, was crossing the street Vhen she noticed that a tramcar goirg towards Willis street was almost upon uer. She made an effort to got off the lino, but was caught by tho apron and thrown on to the other line, almoijt aader the wheels of another ear, which. was coming from Thor'ndon. This car was brought up almost instantly, but too late to avoid inflicting serirm injuries on Mrs Spring. Her lo:t bg was fractured and her head and body cut, and her system also received a sovcre shock. She was removod to the lospilal.
