THE DYNAMITE OUTRAGE.
riSK liius.i ASSOCIATION. Fkilwno, Jul/ ;'3. It is difficult to get further information about the explosion at Bunnythorpc owing to the owner: and police refusing admittance to Lh' building to everyone. Last year dried-milk operations were suspend ed owing to litigation in the old country, and buttermaking was re sorted to. This caused considerable dissatisfaction amongst supplier' who had disposed of calves and pi;;; and had no use for skim milk. Subsequently the building was burned down, and the work was believed tc be that of an incendiary. The litigation having terminated in favou: of the factory owners, the building was re-erected, and it was intended to start operations next month. Ii is believed that gelignite was the explosive used. Glass from the windows was blown some chains from the factory. Mr Bailey, the engineer in charge, who lives next to the factory, was awakened at 2.30 in the morning by two loud reports ii, quick succession. He immediate!' dressed and went towards the factory, but just before be started an other terrific explosion took place. The door of the boiler-house, which had not been locked on the previous day, was wide open. The damagi is not very extensive; the boiler i: completely wrecked, but the engine is only slightly . damaged, and the opening of the factory next monti. will not be interfered with. N< trace of any fuse was found.
