The came was fast and mostly confiuod to tlie forwards. Directly after the start Takarangi potted a goal. Dustin later secured a try from a rebound, and MacDonald scored from a forward rush, the spell ending 10 to nil Soon after resuming King, after a dodgy run, scored for Horo .vhenua, and Rawiri converted. Later Hollan kicked a splendid penalty goal, Dustin scored a try, which Holland converted. Capel, after a fast run down the touchline, scored at the oorner, and Holland again converted. From a forward rush Hogan scored at the oorner, Holland's kick failed.
The Wanganui team were in good all-round form, but needed combination. Holland, Dustin, Takarangi, and Corby were the most conspicuous. King played a great game at wing-forward for Horowhenua, who had the worst of the luck.
