NKW PLYMOUTH PttrzK. TAKERS, PSa PBBSB AMOOtifIOH, Hawrba, July 18. Tbo Hawera Poultry Show, which opened to-day, was a success; There. were 650 entries, all olasses bein? well represented. Mr P. Goot\:r (New Plymouth) todk both North Island championships, in Audalusiaus and Hamburgs, hens winning m each case. Mr Montgomery (Palmerston North) had tho best bird in the show, a Brown Leghorn cockerel.
The following New Plymouth eihi bltors were priae-wlnners j F. Good acre took two championships, one for Andalnsions and one for Black Hamburns j special for best Canary in the show, atsoitvif speeiils and a silver medal. He secured twcnty-eiRUt firsts, twenty.one seconds, and twenty thirds. Mr Burgess took three firsts, three seconds, and a special in Minorcas. Captain Hood took seven firsts, three seconds, one third, and tiro specials in Wyandottes. Mr Beals took three firsts and one second in Game, Mr Teed socurcd threo firsts, ono special, two seconds, and one third. Mr Salt took two first and one second; W. Taylor a second ; Mr Stark, one first 1 and one second; Mr W. Scaadi'm, four seoonds; Mr J. Hurle, one spcoial, nine firsts, seven seconds, seven thirds, and gold medal for best pigeon in the show •, Cecil Dixon, one special and two firsts j R. Oornay, one first; W. Patterson, one first and two thirds; D. MoKaypneflftty >V. S.' Brooks, three firsts, pne thirds and ft. Martin, two firsts,' two seooads,' an<J onp third. I
