TARANAKI HOSPITAL BOARD.
At the monthly meeting of the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board there were present: Messrs G. lisch (chairman,, Burgess, Andrews, McDonald, Brown, and O'Sutlivan.
The secretary will acknowledge the receipt of a donation of £5 from the brother of a late inmate of the Old People'* Home, and inform him that unfortunately the inmate had since beoue so weak intellectually fiat hj? bad been committed to the asylum. The Government Accident Insurance Department forwarded a cheque for £29 os, compensation for accident to \V. Edgccuinbe. Dr. E. A. Walker, surgeon-acting, reported that during the month of June there had been 21 patients admitted, i2 discharged, and 30 remained in the institution. There had been three deaths in the month.
Numerous letters were read in regard to payment of hospital dues. Mr Wadsworth, gardener at the hospital, applied for an increase of salary from i'liw to L'l2s a year for himself and wife. The Chairman will enquire and report during the month. The statement of accounts showed a eredit balance of Ml 7 7s Id. Accounts were passed: Hospital £ll6 13s Cd. -•haritable aid £6O 16s 7d. The assets include accounts received to date £179 10s lid, subsidy on contributions paid £374 10s Bd, subsidy on contributions unpaid, £SO 10s Id, unpaid contributions £SO 10s Id, and contributions from Hawera and Stratford Boards to the Old Peoples' Home.
