Received 17,1.18 a.m. Stdniy, July 16. - A meeting of the Sydney Liedertafel rewired, that after hearing the explanation by Mr Orchard of the manner in which he was treated by the Government of New Zealand, in having his appointment by the Committee of Entertainment in connection with the . enkeatra of the International Exhibition, cancelled in favor of another appointment, expresses its sympathy snth Mr Orchard and indignation at the course adopted by the authorities. The meeting also desired to convey to the Entertainment Committee that it rally realised the unfair position in which the committee was placed by having its unanimous selection ignored by ths Minister in charge.
