PROVISION FOR UNIVERSITY TEACHERS. TEB HIESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, July 16. A resolution from the Professorial Board urging that the Teachers' Superannuation Act should be amended so as to admit teaohers on the staff of a university college, and that they should be granted on admission the same privileges as are aocorded to original members un.ler the existing Act, came up for consideration at the Auckland University College confer euce 10-d'iy. After a short discussion the council passed the : resolution, express ;i 0 ' the opinion lh.it the bajciils ol the Act should be extend d to professors, lecturers and officers of the college. It was also decide! to invito the university coimcils *l Otu ri o, Canterbury and Wellington to cooperate in getting the Act amended next session, so as to got the benetit.i of the scheme extended to university teachers upon such terms as actuarial investigation justifies.
