METHODIST CHURCH OF AUSTRALASIA.

QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the New Plymouth circuit of the above Church was lield on Thursday evening, in Whitcly schoolroom Present: Rev. T. G. Brookes' (in the chair) and fifteen others. Rev. Foston then read the Ministers' if Coast quarterly report, which shewed steady progress in matters spiritual, and finance in a sound condition, there being no balance deficit on quarter's working. Membership returns showed Now Plymouth 195 and Ci-ist 91, several new members having been received during the quarter. The balance-sheet indicated gross receipt? for New Plymouth district of over £IOO, being in excess over ordinary expenses bv about £1.5. Sunday school reports showed steady and good work, but it was felt that the time had come to make a forward move in this department, and it was resolved. " That a conference of Sunday School touchers and others be held to discus methods of work, etc." Gratification was expressed atjthe formation of a branch of the Youno: Men's Forward Movim-nr, with Mr E. CliaHerton as leader, and Mr B. Lewis as 8; Tctary and Tn asmvr. The Secretary was instructed to cenviy to several kind friends the thanks of the meeting for services rendered. A letter was directed to be sent to Miss Pearl Wiikie.. of Cavrington r>rd, congratulating her on her approaching marriage, and thanking her for her services for several years as organist and Sunday School teacher.
