Hay-Mackenzie, stationnutter in charge of Westport, who entered the railway service nnder the Provincial Government of Otago in 1875, died suddenly of heart failure on the wharf at 4 o'clock to-day. late Mr Hay-Mackenzie was a descendant of a Tery old Scottish famiW, and was well known and highh esteemed throughout Otago, prior to his transference to Westport sonit twelve years ago. "Scouie" Mackenzie. the well-known Auckland footballer, is ft son of the deceased gentleman.
