Prime Tuscan meets with favor from buyers, while velvet is not much sought after. Prime milling 8s od to 3s (id, choice Tuscan 3s 7d, medium to good 3s 3il to 3s Id, best whole fowl feed 3s Id to 3s 2d, broken and damaged 2s 9d to 3s, sacks extra.
Oats: The market is quiet, and shippers find it dillieult to secure orders at late quotations. Prime milling 2s 3Jd to 2s -Id, good to best feel 2s 2d to 2s 3d, inferior to medium 2s to 2s Id, sacks extra.
BURXSIDE MARKET KEPORT. PEE PBESS .ASSOCIATION, DrNEDiN, July 11. Fat cattle: IG6 head were yarded. The quality was only fair, with some pens of really prime. Prices opened slightly easier than last week, but anything really well finished was keenly competed for. Best bullocks sold at L 9 10s to Lll, extra £l2 17s fid, medium to good L 7 10s to £9, light and unfinished L 4 |los io Lfi 10s. Best heifers L 7 10s, cows L t 10s to L 6 10s.
Fat slice]): 1870 were yarded, principally wethers, with a few pens of c stra good ewes. The sale opened at prices fully up [lo last week's, but towards the end there was a noticeable drop of from Is to Is tid. Best wethers 24s to 265, extra good to 30s, medium to good 10s to 23s 6d, besi ewes 18s to 21s, extra good to 28s, 17s fid.
Fat lambs -. 60(5 were yarded, and met with good sale. Good lambs 16s Od tn 18s tid, extra good to 20s 9d, medium to good lis to 10s.
Pigs: 138 were yarded, principally light porkers and baconers. Prices for baconers were firm. Smaller sorts were not in such good demand. Suckers os to 6g, slips 10s to 13s, stores 15s to 235, porkers 2Gs to 355, light baconers, 36s to 425, fat baconers 41s to 48s choppers to 60s.
Vickcrs and Stevens report that thero was a fair yarding of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday, and bidding was much better. Cows made £7 to £ll, empty heifers £1 8s to £2 4s, store cows £1 to £2 7s, fat cows £3 12s Cd to £4 7s, spring calves £2 to £3 12s 6d, springers £3 10s to £6. At Mr Smythe's sale at Kaimata en Tuesday, owing to the wet weather, there was not a large attendance, but the cows made good prices, realising from £3 los to £G 10s.
